Narita is the cheaper airport to sleep at: rooms for two start at ¥6,840 a night, and four of the checked hotels came in under ¥10,000. Haneda is clearly more expensive. It only gets cheap there with the Henn na Hotel (from ¥4,500 per person) or a capsule in the terminal. All prices come from the hotels’ own booking pages for 11 November 2026 and only apply with the conditions listed.

Key takeaways

  • Narita, room for two: The Hedistar Hotel Narita from ¥6,840, HOTEL MYSTAYS PREMIER Narita from ¥7,830, Toyoko Inn Narita Airport from ¥8,500 with breakfast.
  • Haneda, room for two: Henn na Hotel Tokyo Haneda from ¥4,500 per person, so from about ¥9,000 for the room.
  • Travelling alone: a capsule in the terminal costs from ¥6,555 at Narita and from ¥8,250 at Haneda, the latter only if you check in after 11 pm.
  • The conditions matter: the lowest prices are almost always early-booking rates, often without breakfast and sometimes non-refundable.

Narita is much cheaper than Haneda

Narita has many hotels in the area around the airport, connected by free shuttle buses. That keeps prices down: four of the nine checked Narita hotels with rooms came in under ¥10,000 for two people, and a fifth at exactly ¥10,000. At Haneda most hotels sit in the terminal or on the rail line, and the cheapest room for two with a fixed travel date started at ¥19,120. If you fly from Haneda, the detour to Narita still isn’t worth it: the trip between the airports costs from ¥1,760 per person and takes over an hour.

You reach the cheap Narita hotels by shuttle only

None of the five cheap Narita hotels is inside the terminal. You take the free hotel shuttle, which needs about 10 to 22 minutes depending on the hotel and terminal. For an early flight the first departure is what counts: Toyoko Inn from 4:20 am, MYSTAYS PREMIER from 4:30 am, Marroad and Gateway from 5:00 am, Hedistar from 5:30 am. At Hedistar and Gateway you have to reserve the shuttle to the airport in advance, and Hedistar’s shuttle from the airport to the hotel only starts at about 2:30 pm. At Toyoko Inn breakfast is included, in the Shinkan building from 5:30 am. At the others you pay extra if you want it.

At Haneda the Henn na Hotel is the cheap exception

The Henn na Hotel Tokyo Haneda lists a price from ¥4,500 per person with two guests in the room on its website. No date is attached, and on many days the price is higher. The shuttle runs hourly in the morning from 4:45 am and reaches Terminal 3 after about 15 minutes, Terminal 1 after about 30 minutes. Travelling alone, you can stay at The Royal Park Hotel Tokyo Haneda in Terminal 3 from ¥11,300 if you book 45 days ahead. The other checked Haneda hotels with rooms ranged from ¥19,120 to ¥56,060 for two people.

A capsule is only cheaper when you travel alone

Both capsule hotels sit right in the terminal: 9h nine hours Narita Airport in Terminal 2, First Cabin Haneda in Terminal 1. The price is per person. Two of you pay ¥13,110 for two capsules at Narita, almost twice as much as a room at the Hedistar. At First Cabin the ¥8,250 rate only applies if you check in after 11 pm. With the regular 2 pm plan the same cabin costs ¥15,000, and on the women’s floor prices started at ¥29,000. Both properties are covered in more detail in the guide Capsule hotels at Tokyo’s airports.

How to get the cheap rate

The prices above are the lowest the hotels showed for 11 November 2026. Three things make the difference:

If you only need the room for a few hours during the day, a day-use rate is often cheaper than a night. The guide Day rooms at Tokyo airports compares the offers.
